Brandon was born and raised in Singapore and started playing the guitar at the age of 17. His Dad was his first guitar teacher and introduced him to all manners of guitar players and bands from his massive music collection. His flair for playing not only stems from his Dad, but also from having Jimi Hendrix, Robben Ford, Eric Johnson, Richie Kotzen, Greg Howe, Brett Garsed, Steve Lukather, Michael Landau, Jeff Kollman and Rafael Moreira as sources of inspiration over the years.
He graduated from G.I.T ( Guitar Institute of Technology ) in Los Angeles, Hollywood. Being surrounded by like mind-ed musicians who were obsessed with practicing and whose musicianship far exceeded his, greatly excited him.
At G.I.T, he learned from some of the best players and teachers in world ( Alex Machacek, Daniel Gilbert, Dave Hill, Stig Mathisen, Allen Hinds, Dean Brown and Dale Turner ). They helped sharpen his playing to a professional level. Determined to make a name for himself, Brandon took every chance to play or perform during his time in Los Angeles.
In his first year in L.A , he became an artist with ESP Guitars and won the EverTune Guitar Competition held in Musicians Institute. Winning the competition landed him an endorsement deal with the company. Besides teaching and gigging, Brandon is busy recording original material featuring Ric Fierabracci ( Dave Weckl, Chick Corea, Brett Garsed, Frank Gambale ) on bass. Upcoming tunes will also feature prominent guest musicians. Stay tuned for more exciting material to come!
Brandon endorses, Curt Mangan strings, Weehbo Effekte pedals, Goosoniqueworx pedals, Reunion Blues bags/cases and EverTune bridges.
